Chen Liangyu is a former politician in China and the Communist Party Committee Secretary for Shanghai. Chen was a prominent member of the "Shanghai clique" faction and opposed Hu Jintao's policies. He was dismissed from office in September 2006 for allegations of corruption and misuse of funds. He was convicted of financial fraud, abuse of power, and accepting bribery.
